So, there was this news story on about Ghaza (sp?). In particular, an art therapy school for kids who look like they can't possibly be older than kindergarteners. Once we've gotten over the sadness that they need one, let's move on.
There were several kids who wouldn't take toys from the news people until they left it on the ground and walked away. Even then, they needed support. One kid hit another with a ball. When he was told to share, he told everyone he was going to call in the militia. Every one of these kids knows that their parents are incapable of protecting them, and the militia is the most powerful force.
While drawing, every single kid (there are at least 40, i have no idea how many there actually are) drew a picture of a house being attacked. EVERY. ONE.
Oh, and everyone knows what a martyr is? Someone who straps bombs to themselves and blow people up? Terrorists?
When asked what they wanted to be when they grew up, ONE THIRD of these kids said they wanted to be a martyr.
I had to leave after that.

That's absolutely horrendous. I hate war, I hate war, I hate war, I hate war -- but I especially hate the idiots who start the war. >>;
I'm so thankful that kids in relatively war free zones can be upset about having no -insert random thing here- or being mad at their parents for pretty petty things.
