this morning, my bird, micah, was fine. i even checked on him, and he was moving around his cage and seemed fine.
tonight, i went up to my room to get my cell phone to ask a friend a question about an assignment for us history. when i checked on my parakeet, he was slumped on the bottom of the cage. he didn't move when i picked him up, and he kept arching his head back really far. we took him to the vet at petsmart, but they were closed, and told us that there was a clinic open somewhere else. we went to that other clinic. by the time we got there, my bird was dead.
i'm really, really depressed right now, and i don't think i'll be doing much around here for a while. i might be on, but i doubt i'll be posting at all for a while. i just don't really have the muse. locu, you should probably withdraw me from the posting contest. i was really hoping to place in this one and win something, but if i can't post, i can't place, and i can't post. so that's all there is to it.

Aww, Izzy that's awful D8 I've never had a pet bird, but I've always wanted one... do you know what happened? What was wrong? I can understand if you're depressed <33 Do your best to deal with the pain how you can and feel more than free to take a break from RPing if that's what you have to do. All the posts you've already made still count toward the posting contest, so I can't exactly withdraw you. -hugpets- Their will be some contests for you to kick ass at next month, so for now don't worry about anything, kay? -Locu

Honestly, I'm really sorry for your bird dying. ;A; I so know how it is. Thing with birds is that you never know that they're sick until its most likely too late, so don't even think of blaming yourself. ;u; <33 We had a cockatiel that was around before I was, (meanest freakish super bird. Like a crotchety old man, I swear.) and one day he kinda just died. I know how upsetting it can be and I'm really sorry for what happened to your bird. <333 Hope you feel better soon and that we'll see you around when you do. <33 ;u; -hugsquish-

we don't really know for sure what happened to him. the emergency place didn't really treat birds, but he was already dead so we just asked the woman to tell us what she could. She said he was thin and hadn't been eating, but he didn't have a cold or crop obstruction so he just got sick. We don't know how - i think it was from his water, a scratch from the cat we couldn't see (there was an incident a few days before) or, since the cage was a gift from a family friend who's bird died, it could be that their bird died of the same thing and the bacteria just survived. but that bird died years ago, so i dunno. either way, however he got it was probably my fault, because i was the one who left the door open and the cat got in while he was out, and i was the one who sometimes didn't change his water. or he could have had it when we got him, but i doubt it.

Izzy, I'm so sorry you lost your bird. But you really can't blame yourself, it could have been anything and anyone could have left the door open or what not. You tried your best to take care of your little birdy, I'm sure of it.
