Overall Appearance --
The bulk of Mieszko’s features are small and squished up on the middle of his face. His eyes are very-close set, and his face is long. His chin almost disappears. His skin is very fair, with pink undertones that can discolor slightly when he’s cold, giving him an almost purple tint to his skin. His eyes are very light, but their haziness can attract unnecessary attention to them. Mieszko believes that his best features are his lips, which are full and dark in color. His mouth isn’t very wide, but his lips are soft, and sometimes swollen from frequent lip-biting, and chapped from the cold air . He keeps his face shaved because he is disgusted by “too much” body hair. His build is lean and his torso is long, while his legs are short. He has a little bit of muscle on him, but he’s not typically the strongest boy. His skin is smooth but oily and he has a few breakouts scattered along his face, arms, and back. However, these breakouts are somewhat controlled, with only two or three pimples occurring at any given time.
Mieszko’s sunken-in eyes are a very light murky blue color. They are close-set and almond shaped, but they are certainly not his most attractive feature. His eyelashes are so short that they’re barely visible, and his eyebrows are full and set very close to the top of his eyes.
Mieszko’s hair is a mousy brown color, cut right-about chin level. It's usually somewhat greasy, and usually littered with some dandruff, or even dirt that he hasn't yet washed out of his hair. His hair-washing routine is not the most regular, occurring once or twice a week instead of every-day or every other-day. He pushes it out of his face, and sometimes tucks it behind his ears. He might even put a little bit of gel in it to keep it out of his way, for it’s not quite long enough to gather into a pony-tail, but too long to comfortably sit on his neck..
Mieszko doesn’t really have a “style” of his own. Beggars can’t be choosers, so he wears whatever he can. This doesn't necessarily mean that there is not a style he would want to wear if he had the means to. He enjoys sleek styles and the color black is his favorite. High-collared, button-up shirts paired with fitted black pants would make up Mieszko’s ideal outfit. Also, Mieszko needs reading glasses. The glasses have thick, black plastic frames with sleek rectangular lenses. He always takes these off when he’s not using them.
.Personal Character Information.
Personality --
Mieszko has spent so much of his life lying to himself that he’s not really sure what part of him is made-up and what part of him is real anymore, and he’s okay with that. He changes his personality on a dime depending on the situation he’s in and what he thinks he needs to do to make things easiest or more enjoyable for him; the two of which are not always the same. Mieszko is a very goal-oriented individual, yet also very thrill seeking. However, he's realized that in order to succeed he cannot be impulsive, he cannot be the argumentative person that he is. He does what he needs to do, regardless of how different it is from what he is and what he believes, if he thinks it necessary.
This being said, Mieszko thrives on attention. Whether positive or negative, he knows that when he's in the middle of an argument, that his adversary is paying attention to him. He enjoys anything different, anything out of the ordinary monotony of his humdrum life, and even if it doesn’t always make him the most popular, it always keeps him on his toes. He doesn't like seeing the same things over and over and over. He wants to see something new, something exciting. He generally seems to enjoy change, whether this change is for the better or for the worse. However, he’s far too afraid of what this ‘change’ may entail to actually enjoy it. Mieszko is not impulsive, because he knows that acting on a whim leaves opportunity for failure and failure is something Mieszko doesn’t tolerate. If, after testing the waters a bit, Mieszko sees no threat to him in the specified action, he’ll embrace it. It doesn’t take long for him to adapt because if he can’t change it, he believes it’s best to just not dwell on it.
Mieszko likes to be surrounded by people, and he likes to feel like he’s the one with all the control. He’s a smart boy, good with making plans and organizing schemes, but not as good at actively pursuing his own desires because he’s constantly second-guessing himself. He never really knows what he wants, and the best choice to him is the one that can be changed the easiest. He likes to have backups, he never does anything without knowing what to do in the case that his plan backfires. He has a hard time figuring out what he wants, and generally takes a long time to act (or doesn’t act at all) because of this. He doesn’t want to do something that’ll stop him from reaching any goals in the future.
Mieszko has always wanted to stand out, he’s always wanted people to look at him and notice him, and this often leaves him spouting off about things he doesn’t really believe just so he can feel like he is different. If they get angry, if they get mad, that's all the more reason for Mieszko to have fun with them. He really doesn’t care what most of them think, as long as they’re thinking about him. He’s a very prideful individual (partially as a cover for his low self-esteem) and often this leaves him in positions he’d rather not be, for example fighting someone he’ll lose against because he can’t shut his mouth and back-down.
Mieszko is a very complicated person, attempting to show everyone how tough he is and how much he doesn't need anyone else. Honestly, he does. He needs people a lot, and he relies greatly on the few friends he's managed to acquire through the years. He even relies on the enemies on occasion. He has to have someone proving to him he's real, someone counting on him for something whether it's love and support as is the case with his father, understanding and friendship as is the case with his companions, or even just a snarky comment. He has to have someone proving to him that he's alive, or he feels like he isn't anymore.
Despite the arguments Mieszko loses and the immaturity he occasionally shows, he's not all hot-air up in the attic. Sure, there are a few subjects he’s terrible in but none that he honestly fails. Academically, he’s well on the way to reaching his goals, and a strong ambition that he possesses in relation to this work also helps to keep him on track. Mieszko has always felt like he was the one left out of the pack, and prove his worth, he always works hard to keep his grades up. This drive is noticeable in his personality, especially where school is concerned.
Also, he’s extremely adaptable. Much like a liquid, Mieszko can, when the time comes, slither himself into any mold he needs to, and he can do it fairly well. Mieszko can change himself and his beliefs to suit whatever it is that life throws at him. He’s afraid to be emotionally attached to much of anything because he's paranoid that people aren't being sincere, and he's cynical about how long good things will last. He is fully capable of leaving a current situation to go elsewhere to get whatever it is he desires. Mieszko, in all honesty, wants people to talk to him. As much as he doesn’t want to care what people think, he knows that he has to have at least one or two people who care for him at least a little. Because of his low self-esteem and feelings that he has very little to offer, he takes to shamelessly flattering the people he wishes to impress.
Mieszko can also be very calculating, planning for days, weeks, even months for something he wants to do. He’s been known to be manipulative and underestimated, and people tend to write him off as not being a threat. This underestimation is something that Mieszko counts on when he's attempting to manipulate someone. It lowers their guards giving him more of a chance to successfully get what he wants from them.
Mieszko has a very smug disposition, and much of the time he doesn’t hide this very well. He occasionally talks down to people, and a lot of the time times he just comes off as obnoxious and annoying, as has been stated by several of his classmates. Mieszko often acts differently from how he thinks. He also is very much an all-talk-no-action type of guy. He talks big about his plans and his dreams, he talks like he’s so different, like he’s such a nonconformist. He’s got great ideas, but he’s too afraid of failure to act much on any of his strong opinions. He’s not comfortable being on his own. As much as he hates to admit it, he loves being around people, and he needs them to constantly reinforce him.
Pride is something that Mieszko has a terrible time confronting. He carries around so much of it, that he’s almost insufferable at times. He doesn’t like to accept help from anyone, and likes to believe that he doesn’t need it, though he knows he does. Mieszko lies to himself almost constantly. He’s got a lot of maturing to do before he’ll be an adult, in a lot of ways, though in some ways he's a little more mature than he should be. He almost always manages to push away people he cares for by being overly-skeptical of their motives for talking to him and unsure of his own desires. It’s not that he doesn’t want their attention, or that he doesn’t appreciate their company, he’s just overly paranoid that they’re either out to make him look like an idiot, or that they’ll get tired of him and leave. Both of those are things that Mieszko can’t handle. He tends to avoid attachments because he’s always overly skeptical.
A lot of the things he believes contradict society’s standards, which can turn him into a bit of an outcast, and his fear of meeting new people often leaves him alone. He can’t stand to be alone or to be ignored. When he was younger he acted out for attention, and he still does at times. At this stage in life Mieszko is overly dependent on the very few friends he does have and too afraid of being rejected to branch out. His pride stops him from admitting that he wants more friends anyway.
Mieszko’s main driving force in life is his desire for attention, and he’s willing to do nearly whatever it takes to get this. He also has a tendency to be untruthful, and he has a tendency for starting arguments. He thrives on being in the middle of anything.
History --
Mieszko’s life has always been a bit more empty than the lives of those around him. He was born in a small town in Sztutowo, Poland right as the Operation Colonization of Cambria was beginning. Mieszko’s parents had not much in the way of luxury, or sustenance, of anything and they found that the new planet offered them a chance at a better, stronger life. So Mirek and Alicja took their three children (Łukasz, Tomek, and Mieszko) and packed them on a spaceship destined for Cambria. The first five years or so of Mieszko’s life was spent on a spacecraft heading for a new opportunity, and when they finally reached the area, Mieszko found himself confused. He needed to learn a new language, learn a entirely new place. Hell, Mieszko had never even been outside of the spacecraft. There was a whole mountain of things to learn, and he was ready to dive right in.
Luckily for him, he was a rather bright kid, catching onto the concepts of their new culture, planet, and languages fairly quickly and becoming rather efficient at them. He was a bit too young as a child to really understand the meaning of what was going on around him as the shapeshifters continued to commit acts of violence towards the humans. Didn’t they know that man conquered all beasts? They were like animals, weren’t they? They were just as uncivilized and probably unintelligent. He found himself fascinated by them and by the time he entered secondary school, his fascination had blossomed to an obsession.
Mieszko’s father was roped into becoming a part of a an organization created to free to the world of the shapeshifters' destruction: The Shapeshifter Elimination Group (SEG), and Mieszko was proud of his father’s developments in this area, and proud of everything that he was doing to protect humanity and make sure that they had their second chance. The money from the job was good, and Mieszko’s mother was able to retire from the teaching job which she had acquired to make ends meet in order to be a mother full-time. This made all of the family happy until everything went wrong.
In a retaliation for an SEG mission, The Mierzejek family soon became a target for the shapeshifters, who wanted revenge over the death of their loved ones, of their family. They launched a full-scale attack on his home while Mirek was out at work and Mieszko was at school, and when Mieszko arrived home he found that both his brothers had been brutally attacked, and his mother was already dead. Neither Lukasz or Tomek survived the attack either, and this made Mieszko and Mirek even more determined to make things right, and see the humans, once again, at the top where they belonged.
Mieszko and Mirek moved out of the house immediately and stayed in a hotel for a few days as Mirek worked, and Mieszko tried his hardest to keep himself together through school. It was just him and his dad now. The house was quiet, and Mieszko knew that whatever happened he couldn’t leave Mirek by himself. A few years passed, Mieszko graduated from high school with honors and enrolled in a university like he had always planned in the field which he had always planned, but something just wasn’t right. He was still fascinated with the workings of the human and even the Shapeshifter mind, and still enthralled by the concepts of what life’s purpose was and the meaning to it but he found that all of this was nothing in comparison to the pain the shapeshifters had caused and he wanted, more than anything, to eliminate them. He wanted to make their species go extinct, but he didn’t just want to go in as a soldier, fighting away and putting himself into the line of fire. He was too smart for that. No, Mieszko wanted to do something bigger. He wanted to learn as much as he could about them, and then help take them out. He wasn’t sure where, but he knew he wanted to work in the SEG somehow.
.RP Example.
So this was it, the college life he had been planning for years. Two years behind him, A bit less than two to go, and all Mieszko could think about was after. He was a problematic thinker, thinking too much about too many things. He never really got anything done because he worried too much about everything. What job did he really want to pursue when he was finished. There was the psychology job he had considered, of course he could always go into medical school and become a psychiatrist like he had originally wanted, but… where would that get him now? Mieszko’s desires for life had changed, though his plans for action have not changed in the slightest. Why was that? Did it matter? The answer was yes, it did. As Mirek slaves away at the SEG doing what he knew was right and working his fingers to the bone to complete his mission, Mieszko sat there in classes, tied to the past. Unable to really do anything to change it. He was stuck in a rut. That was all there was to say about it.
Sure, he had a few jobs on the side. Sure he had met a few girls here and there to get his mind off of his life,, but really? Nothing mattered. The only thing that really made a difference would be to purge their society of those disgusting beasts, and he wrote about this for nearly every paper his teachers made him write. He was beginning to get repetitive, even to them. God, he was so angry. Sometimes he didn’t even know what good he could do with anything.
Write an essay analyzing the effects of the subconscious on one’s actions
All homework essays sounded the same. Really. They were also all equally pointless.
Mieszko stared at the laptop screen, fidgeting before leaning over and typing the same things that he did from every essay, glancing at his notes periodically to clarify a few points which he didn’t understand, but mostly there was silence save for the click-click-click of the keys, and his face showed none of the emotion, none of the anger that it usually did. Work calmed him somehow. He wasn’t sure how but it did. Honestly? He preferred things this way.
