Eye Color --Black
Eternal Trait --A marking on her back that always appears somewhere on one of her forms, sometimes as a pelt marking, or a pattern in her feathers or even a slight discoloring on her skin
Height --About 5’ 10”
Weight --About 120 pounds
Overall Appearance -- Jen has deep black eyes that look like there is no end to them. They can sparkle like a gem in sunlight when she is happy or blaze like deadly lightning in a night sky when she is pissed off. Her hair is always neat even though she rarely brushes it or changes it. Her skin is a slightly creamy color and when she is sick or feeling a particularly bad emotion such as sadness her skin is quite pale and her face flushes. When angry or embarrassed her skin seems to go dark. She wears a tight top that converges around her neck like a choker and a double belt at the bottom of it which doesn’t quite meet up with her pants. She also has a double thigh belt on her right thigh which holds her nine/ten inch dagger when needed which is also engraved with ancient runes from her family line. Her pants are black and she has two metal ‘do-dads’ – as she called them when she first saw them – on her arms called Vambrace which are made of a unique metal with a crystal jewel set into them near the elbow and straps which keep them in place.
They are amazingly strong and the gem is changeable. These Vambrace are actually her own invention from a couple of years ago. She adapted the technology for plasma rifles and adapted it to be able to channeled through the gem that she puts in her Vambrace which makes plasma weapons of certain types and shapes depending on which gem is placed in it. A green gem with make claw like weapons. Blue is only useable underwater and creates three tentacle like things. She was not able to find two similar purple gems so when purple one arm gets a short dagger and the other a long whip. And a red gem will cause two long swords like weapons to appear. The plasma also takes on the color of the gem. The white gem is usually placed in the slot and that allows a short blast of power but takes a while to recharge.
Her hair she always has in two ponytails which are tied behind her ears and her fringe is left slightly out on the side which hangs slightly in her face and eyes. She has a slightly narrow face and defined cheekbones as well as a slender neck and strong arms and legs. On her back is a birthmark which is a mark which she was told would protect her but she simply thought that it would look cool so she never got rid of it. It is the one thing that always appears somewhere on her when she changes.
.Personal Character Information.
Personality -- Jen usually doesn’t have a very serious personality. She is very carefree, funny and has a very ‘here we go again’ outlook on life. Jen can be very self-confident, even to the point of being cocky sometimes, and also can be very defiant. Even though she can be cynical, skeptical, very impatient and not very optimistic, her resilience and indomitable spirit has gotten her through many rough times in her life. Even though she is not really serious at all unless in a battle, and even then she can be very cocky, she has a sharp mind when she wants. Jen hates puzzles, especially mazes, but loves a good challenge and a good battle. She can fake caring and kind when she wants, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t be manipulative when she has to be. She is not very good at making up lies on the spot, although she is a good liar with lies that she has had time to practice, nor is she good when she is forced to deal with things which she doesn’t agree with. When pushed over the edge she can have a very bad temper and a very foul attitude and sometimes it takes a while for things to ‘click’ with her. ON the subject of her temper though, most of her carefree attitude is just another way to hide her un ending hatred and disgust over the human race. Although she isn’t the sort that would kill humans for the hell of it, it doesn’t take much for a human to get her pissed off and she has no qualms about the times that a human did get itself kills through her. Jen often looks for the easy way out but once her mind is set on a goal she is completely dedicated to it, even if many others think that she should approach it from a different direction. She can always tell when someone is hiding something from her, even with the most practiced and expert liars because like all Tate’s she is an accomplished liar herself and knows all the signs. When she changes form, she also changes her personality slightly and can be snappier, angrier or more inpatient depending on her forms.
History --Jen was only a child when the first humans landed. She remembered looking at them thinking how they weren’t so different. She remembered running around the building site for the humans places to live and all that. And she remembered the fear that the humans had whenever they saw Shape shifters play fighting in the streets in the form of big cats or birds or other animals which could be dangerous. She remembered her parents being killed when she was just five and being placed with other shape shifters that would try and look out for her through whole life. She loved to play around and shift, especially into her falcon form and she loved to run through the streets. By the age of ten Jen was already very advanced at half shifting, just using certain attributes. She had already taught herself to swim by just shifting gills and fins. She could jump massive heights by combining the hollow bones of bird and the strength of a leopard and she could enhance any of her senses. She did this often although not often in public as her caretakers at that time told her that it was rude as not everyone had that gift. One thing that always annoyed her was that she was one of those that didn’t have easy access to the white zone. She only could store things in it when she shifted form and take when she shifted back, like most of her kin.
She stayed clear of the humans and then it came. The five year war. Started. She was sixteen. And she fought hard. She had few friends, she wasn’t the best social shifter, but she loved this place and what it gave her and she had already hated the humans for a long time. She killed five. She would attack them in her falcon form, go for the eyes and then land on their throats, puncturing their arteries. Sometimes she would go in her leopard form but that was more awkward and a bigger target. When she heard of the attack against the emperor she went mad. She had met him. Once and once only but he had given her praise for dealing with the loss of her parents and still being able to see the good of the world. She rallied friends of hers. Scree, Empusa, Raum, Aino, Jared, Elizabeth, Arella, Abbadon, Gharn, Herne, Arturo, and Lewis. Together they attacked a massive group of humans. They all had very handy forms to shift into easily. Slowly their group inspired others and a massive battle ensured drawing in people from everywhere. She learned that other battles had been going on as well. By the time the batte ended only a few stood standing. Out of all the battles that had gone on that day, this was one of the few that had ended with shifters as the victor. But she had lost too many. Herne, had died first even with his massive strength, then Arturo, and Empusa, Raum, Abbadon, Elizabeth, Jared and Gharn. Scree was injured but alive. Arella had fled in the middle of the battle. And Lewis was dying slowly. She made it to him but not in time to save her boyfriend. Screen helped her deal with it all before they joined the rest of the fight. She lost track of now many humans she took out and she never felt guilty about a single one of them. After Lewis’ death she spent months locked up in her work shop and created the Vambrace. After that she trained herself how to hold half shifts for longer amounts of time and even went into battle using her new weapons and her half shift abilities. She perfected four combinations that came in handy and named them.
When the war was all but over for the shifters her and Scree went into hiding. Jen found employment as a engineer and mechanic once she learnt how to convince people she was human. Live went badly. She struggled to contain her hatred and often didn’t both to control her temper. Flight and running through the wilderness in her forms was her only solace and swimming when she got the chance. She often trained in her isolated and protected home with Scree in their respective half changed combinations. On May the 27th, 4602, Scree was captured and killed by the SEG. Jen found herself alone. Now there is strong talk of rebellion, and Jen is determined to help.
.RP Example.
She sat on the floor surround by mess. She had her Vambrace sitting on her lap and she growled and swore as no matter what she did it didn't work. Well didn't fit was more to the point. Her Vambrace right now were far to weak to do any serious damage and she had been trying to amp up their power, but every time she did the gems that channeled the plasma broke. She wasn't using her actual gems of course, but other lesser ones. She certainly wasn't risking those gems. She hit herself with the flat of her palm on the head and swore again. Thats it. She was giving up for the day. Besides she still had other work to do for the pathetic human boss that was already a day late. She moved the Vambrace off her lap and gathered herself. She relaxed all her muscles and thought on the form of a clouded leopard. WIthin two minutes she was changed. That form always took a little big longer. The leopard was a fair bit smaller then her and as a result felt slight strange but its jumping abilities made it worthwhile. She pushed the Vambrace into a small cloth bag and grabbed it with her mouth. Crouching down Jen prepared for a jump. She landed perfectly, having done this many times before. The fourty foot high roof of the garage was usually meant to help store small space shuttles which she worked on, but last year she had found a small gap near the roof that was good for storing some of her more... condemning items. Including a picture of her friends before she had gotten them all killed the day the emperor died.
She reached the roof gap and squeezed in. It was only just bigger then her current form, a back up because no human could get in here. She dragged her braces in and pushed them to the far corner. Moving over she pawed the picture of her friends before jumping back down again. She heard a noise as she hit the ground. One she didn't cause. She changed back. She pushed herself to change faster. It took more energy but it was worth it. She had only just changed back and climbed onto the bit of the ship she was meant to be working on when her boss walked in.
"JEN!" He yelled. Not that he needed to. She sighed and swung around to look at him.
"Do ya really gotta yell at me? The whole damn planet can hear you, and this place echos." It was said with annoyance the usually cocky and cynical tilt she put in her voice.
"When's that ship gonna be finished?" He growled.
Jen glared at him and shrugged. She disappeared for a second but dropped to the ground before he could complain. "When it is. I ain't no miracle worker. See this. its the main pump for the shield generator for space radiation. See this crack. I need to fix that and then its done, but we can't get spare parts out here so its taking a while. Okay?" She tossed it onto the bench and disappeared again, walking over to her other little welding room. She swore at him quietly under her breath and then Mark walked in. Another human.
"You're going to get yourself fired one day, Jennifer. You keep pissing him off like that, talking like you haven't ever been to school and he'll lose his temper with you one day."
"Well whoop di do. He gonna lose his temper. Certainly ain't scared of that. You just go back to whatever the hell you were doing and let me worry about dealing with the boss man." Mark sighed and walked out. She finished fixing the crack and called out to the boss that she was all done. He called the SEG to tell them their transport was ready. Jen left. She wasn't going anywhere near them. Not a chance in hell. She wandered home, happy at the thought of going for a flight later on. She probably shouldn't. But what the hell, she needed to let off some steam.

- A Good Fight – Jen loves to have a good fight, especially with an enemy who is a decent challenge. She never goes out looking for fight even though fights often find her and she does not run when they do. To her a good fight is when her opponent inputs into the battle as much as she does and even if she loses – which has never happened yet unless it is a training match with another person who cheated – she would still be happy if it was a decent fight and not be to angry that she lost. Although she would still come back and try and get a better result for herself later, especially if they constantly rub it in that she lost.
- People with a good sense of humour – Jen has a very unique and fun loving sense of humour, so when she meets people that also don’t mind having a joke, it makes her glad as to opposed people that are to serious all the time. When she can sit down and have a good laugh with someone that has a similar sense of humour and they actually understand it is one of the best gifts that anyone can actually give her.
- Freedom – Jen loves to be free and do whatever she wants whenever she wants and to not be bound down by responsibilities and routine. For her, the gift to go anywhere and do anything that she wants is a better gift than anything else that someone could give her. She loves to be able to just wander with no purpose and no destination and no need to be anywhere at any given time.
- Independence – Independence is a big thing for Jen, the gift to be able to go where she wants without having to have a partner and without having to double check everything with people and even to just be able to make her own decisions without people second guessing her. She is her own best friend and quite happy with her own company if she has to even though she is a social creature. She isn’t good at taking orders and won’t do what she is told unless she personally thinks that it is important.
- A good challenge – Jen loves a good challenge no matter what the risk and the more problems that arise the better. Because Jen has such a cleaver mind, simple challenges bore her and she always looks for a better way to do things, even if it will be longer, harder and fifty times more frustrating. But one she starts something she will always finish it, even if it takes years. A challenge is never too hard or too technical and Jen loves things that at first seem beyond her reach. Even danger will not put her off a challenge that she is committed. Sometimes one of her challenges may seem to be too much for her at times but even if she has to abandon the project for a few days or months even she will always find a way to get it completed eventually.
- Doing Mechanics – although Jen likes to be free to wander around she is most happy if she can use mechanics to sit there and fiddle with things. She likes to be able to play around with bits of metal and loves to be able to make a massive mess with no one to tell her off so she can swear and complain and do exactly what she needs to do to complete a project
Dislikes --
- Humans – More then anything she hates the humans and the SEG. They are her one driving hatred in life. Since they cannot tell Shapeshifters from humans in anyway other then watching them shift she is careful around everyone but she knows full well what will happen if she ever has a run in with the SEG. Either she will die or they all will.
- Mazes – A Maze is one of Jen’s pet hates. She hates mazes with every parts of her body and hates it even more when she had to try and get through them, especially if it is a particularly hard or complex maze. It is okay if she has a map or a list of directions to guide her by but she still hates them simply because of how confusing and complex they can be. All other puzzles except mazes are good but it takes great motivation to get her through a maze.
- Routine – Jen hates routine, she has never been able to be bound by routine or things she must do and if people try and impose a routine upon her she almost always throws it back in their face. To her nothing is worse than a cage or being bound down with no ability to free herself.
- People that are too serious – Jen has never understood the point of seeing everything in a serious air and has never been able to understand why some people just can’t have fun. To her, people that are too serious she finds boring and to dull for her energetic personality. She loves to have fun and doesn’t understand why some people just don’t have the ability to see things in a better light. Even with the situation with the humans, she believes that one of the reasons she blends in so well is that she doesn’t walk around glaring at every human she sees.
- Greediness – To be greedy and to take what would be better use in someone else’s life is a cruel and selfish to Jen, therefore she often opposes those that take for their own needs and not for the needs of the many. It is not unknown for Jen to steal from a greedy person and give what she takes to someone who really needs it in their life, but to take things out of laziness of plain selfishness is disgusting to her, one of the reasons why she hates the humans so much, because they just came in here and took things
- Cowardice – Even if in a battle or in another situation such as not doing something that is important because your fear it, Jen hates that sort of an attitude especially when it need not happen and it does simply because people just can’t be bothered or give into their unnecessary fear. Running away from a fight is even worse. Jen understands fear but the only thing she fears is fear itself so she can never really relate to other people having smaller more insignificant fears.
