- Alcohol - After the separation of him and his wife he took to the bottle for comfort. He's a lot more independent now, but still has at least one drink a day.
- His Men - Daniel would do anything for his SEG boys, and most of his funds goes to better them.
- His Family - Even though they may have abandoned him, he still loves his family and dedicates everything he does to them.
- Women - He promised he'd never love another woman, but he fancies beautiful young women every once and a while to keep him company. He most of the time calls them over to make him a nice meal or to just simply have a chat with him, it's not just all about sex.
- His Money - He worked damn hard for his money and he's going to do with it as he pleases. Anyone who has a problem with that should take it up with him.
- His Job - Daniel loves his job, and he gave up everything for it. This job molded him into the man he is today, and without it he has nothing. He takes great pride in what he does and believes he is the good guy in the situation that they are in.
- Parties - He's much too old to be in the wild and crazy parties of his youth anymore, and so now he likes the calm and fancy parties. As long as these parties have plenty of drinks and gossip he'll be there.
- Power - Give him power and he'll just keep asking for more. He loves power, and like all imperfect creatures he can abuse power, but also he can use power for the greater good.
- Books - He's quite the intellectual and when he has spare time he does enjoy reading a novel. He considers it as the perfect stress reliever.
- Important People - Daniel surrounds himself with important people, from famous actors and actresses to important political figures. He enjoys their company and feels like he has more influence by being friends with them.
- Shapeshifters - He has a personal grudge against these creatures, and hates everything about them. There is no one who would rather have the entire population of the shapeshifters eliminated more than him, and he's made it his main goal to do just that.
- Stupid People - He doesn't particularly enjoy being around them, and takes great offense to their idiocy.
- Animals - Since he is always on the lookout for shifters he doesn't let any animal near him unless they have been blood tested and proven to be not shifters.
- Candy/Chocolate - Even as a child he was never a fan of sweets, and always just gave them to his sisters when he received candy.
- Loneliness - You could more or less call it a fear of his, but he absolutely hates being alone. He thinks that if he is alone he'll be alone forever, and so he always has to be with some sort of company.
- War - After having seen the horrors of war against the shapeshifters he isn't a fan of going into any war if it's avoidable.
- Stress - He's constantly in a conflict with stress and can never seem to get rid of it, and for that he can be edgy when piled up with things.
- Uncleanliness - Daniel is sort of a neat freak. He hates seeing dirt or anything that signifies dirtiness. You'll never see his home dirty or messy and you'll never see him that way either.

Daniel isn't a very big man, and is considered on the shorter side. For a man who has been military trained you'd expect him to be tall and quite muscled up, however that is not the case with Daniel. He was one of the shortest men in his class, and never had huge muscles like many military men were pictured with. He was scrawny compared to his much bigger friends, but he is also very toned and fit and kept his body that way since he was a teenager. You can tell that Daniel must have been a handsome man in his prime, and he's still handsome but has an aged look to him. His hair is a dark brown with flashes of grey hair throughout it, which is primarily caused from his aging and the stress of life. Depending on how he is feeling that day he can have his hair sort of untidy, or he can have it combed nicely. On important events though he will have it cut down short just for convenience.
Daniel likes to have a beard most of the time, and can go days without shaving but will never completely shave it off. He claims that he feels naked and/or feels like he looks like a fish without his beard. This man is always dressed to impress and has a large wardrobe full of classy and sophisticated clothing. You'll never catch him untidy or disheveled in appearance, and most likely will never see him in a low class or 'dirty' area either. His skin is well tanned and always clean as well, for you'll never see a spec of dirt in his fingernail or a drop of mud on his foot.
.Personal Character Information.
Personality --
Daniel is a strong-willed man, and isn't even the slightest bit confused about what he wants out of life. He thinks he's gotten everything he can get out of it though, and so feels very accomplished at this time. He's upfront about his opinions, and doesn't believe in hiding the truth from someone. When he is in deep thought it may seem like he looks troubled, but in truth he is just focused on something. Daniel is serious half of the time, and he can be laid back and more pleasant the other half of the time. He's serious when he's working and doing something related to military business, and he's laid back when he's off work and with friends or family. He can easily read people, and can pick out their emotions. He usually has control of his emotions, but when he's angry he finds it hard not to start a fight. When not working, Daniel can be easy to get along with as long as you don't get him annoyed or angry. He's a clever guy, and knows how to work his way in and out of things. He's also very charismatic and a smooth talker with all crowds.
Daniel is very prejudice against shifters, and those humans who are sympathetic toward shifters. He takes specific interest in things that have to do with shifters, and wants to find their ultimate weakness so that he and his boys can take them down once and for all. Daniel is always on his best behavior when his son comes to visit, because he wants to be a good influence toward him and hopes that Alexander will put in a good word to his mother about him. Even though he and his ex-wife, Vera, aren't on good terms they both are able to have a civil conversation with each other, and he hopes that she will come to love him again some day. None the less, Daniel still knows how to live his life without the constant presence of a woman, and takes care of himself well. He's taken to reading quite a lot and reads some of a book every night to help him fall asleep, along with a glass of whatever alcohol he wishes for.
Some of his friends say that he seems depressed when he has been alone for quite some time, but that his mood changes rapidly when he has company. It is unlike him to be alone though, and he likes to have friends with him when possible. When a friend isn't available he invites an attractive lady friend over to spend time with him, and eventually sleep with him, which can be taken in a sexual and non-sexual way. Daniel can be kind of a jerk when he's had a few drinks, but his friends know that he's kidding around and find him funny. He can also be one of the best guys around when he's drunk as well, and certainly is the life of the party. You won't find a more livelier guy at any party he attends, and if there's dancing he won't stop until someone escorts him out. Sober or drunk, Daniel will physically and mentally fight someone if they wish to. He's got a fiery temper when it's sparked, and knows how to throw a punch and craft up a battle of wits. He is always prepared for an attack, and keeps two customized pistols with him and a hidden dagger by his side.
History --
Daniel was born to Helen and David Garnier, two old-fashioned and kind people who owned one of the last farms in the United States. Born in 4557, Daniel was only eight years old when Goliath was ready to make her voyage to Cambria. He had two younger sisters that were named Anne and Sarah, and although he thought of them as annoying he did love them. The government had been trying to get hold of his family's farm since his great great grandfather had owned it, but the Garnier family kept a firm grasp on their great treasure and never gave in. That was until they were given an offer that they weren't aloud to refuse. His family received a letter that stated they either sell them the property for their asked price, or they would take it from them without mercy. The amount of money they would receive was great, and even more so the offer included a secure spot on the Goliath for it's maiden trip to Cambria. They accepted the offer quite hastily, and just like that their future was decided.
The Garnier family went from humble farm owners to rich upperclassmen, but their personalities didn't change with the money they received. When that day came to enter the ship that would take them to a new and better life, they were nervous and excited. It was a strange thing, living off the ground for twenty-three years, but somehow they did it. It took some adjusting but the family found that they liked living away from a polluted and dangerous environment. The best teachers aboard taught the younger occupants, and Daniel showed promise to be great even at his early school career. As a teenager he proved to be not only one of the smartest kids in his grade, but also a great leader and very charismatic. He caught the eye of a few girls, but being the hard worker that he is he never found time to catch himself a girlfriend. Daniel did have a few close friends, but he rarely ever went out with them on non-school related things. He somehow always made it to parties though, and was always the life of the party that everyone invited.
When he graduated he decided that he would enroll to be in the newly formed military group that was starting on the ship and would continue in Cambria. It wasn't necessarily needed, but would temporarily be a helper to the law enforcers of the ship just until they reached Cambria. Daniel figured that they would need a military force just in case the residents of the new planet decided they didn't want the humans there anymore. It would prove to be a wise decision in the future. When Daniel was just about finished with his training he had met Vera Townsend while wandering around the ship. Vera was just about his age, and a beautiful and talented woman. It was love at first sight, and the two got married when Daniel was twenty-two. Vera had been studying to become a teacher, and was a peaceful and quiet woman. Somehow though she found that she was all the more talkative and simply at her best when she was with Daniel.
Daniel had finished his training only a few months before his wedding, and became a Private. While only a year after that he was appointed to Sergeant. It was a busy time in his life for Daniel, but he managed to balance his family life and his work life pretty well. It was only til his first daughter, Elisabeth, was born that things started to get harder for him. He was twenty-four, and Vera wanted him around more to take care of their daughter. He was so close to being promoted though, and promised he'd help more after he did get that promotion. Vera wasn't too happy with him, but she was understanding and managed to cope with being the only one looking after Elisabeth that first year. He was then promoted to Lieutenant and decided he wouldn't work so hard as to be there for his little girl, but soon a new opportunity arose and he took more time for work. At age twenty-six, his second daughter Hannah was born. At that time Daniel didn't even want to be home, and purposely took extra time to be at work. One kid was enough, but another crying baby wasn't in his agenda.
Vera threatened him, but she never lived up to her threats and Daniel grew used to them. Their love for each other was intimate though, and no matter how hard they fought they'd always wind up back with each other. They were far from perfect, and as soon as things started looking better for them they got worse again. Daniel wouldn't give up on making it to the top of his career, and he worked hard. He managed to get to the rank of Captain by the age of thirty, and found out only a few months after that Vera was pregnant again. The child was confirmed to be a boy, and that made Daniel all the more aware. He would now have a son. He immediately spent more time at home to take care of his needy wife, and their two daughters that he never had time to see. He was so happy to have a son in the household, for the female dominated environment was driving him up a wall. They named this one Alexander, and decided that this had to be the last one.
However Daniel's promise didn't last long, for the ship had landed on Cambria in 4588, and their new life had begun. They settled on the outskirts of the city, and quickly went back to usual business. Vera was still juggling work and taking care of her three kids, and Daniel was still working on climbing the career ladder. Daniel had already grown a dislike toward the shifters, and felt their attitude was sketchy. He was prejudice against them and told his wife and children to be wary of them at all times, but they didn't listen very well. They thrived in Cambria, and quickly moved from their simple home into a large home that they did not need, but wanted all the same. Daniel had reached the position of Major at the age of thirty-four, and just in time too. The shifters had started to act up, and tension grew between the humans and the natural inhabitants of Cambria. When the war began, Daniel instructed his family to move in with his parents temporarily in order to keep them safe.
With the need of higher ranked officials, Daniel was promoted to Colonel at age thirty-seven. He fought hard, and was even more away from his family. The night he did come back to see them he found his parents brutally murdered, and thankfully his wife and kids had gone out to the store. All the evidence led to shifters, and along with the distrust he had for them before, he gained a personal hatred for them. His hatred forced him to become something of a brutal fighting machine in battle, and he took no mercy in killing shifters. His wife grew to fear him upon hearing his stories of war, and told him he had to withdraw from fighting or she would leave him. She meant it, and when he didn't stop, she left. During the end of the war he was promoted to General at age forty-two, and received medals for his bravery in the war. Though upon hearing about and seeing what had happened during the war, he grew to hate it deeply. The divorce papers were filed shorty after the war, but Vera wanted nothing from him but custody of the kids. Their home and possessions all belonged to him, but the kids were the only things that she could claim as hers. Seeing as their daughters were either already in college or about to attend college and wanted nothing to do with their father, she allowed their young son to be able to visit his father every other weekend. Showing that the woman wasn't heartless, and she did know how much Alexander meant to him.
Daniel begged for her to come back, but she strongly and straight up confessed she did not love him anymore. After this event he found that his only comfort and friend was the bottle, and took to drinking heavy amounts of alcohol every day, almost losing his job in the process. When his job and seeing his son every other weekend was threatened, he knew he had to do something. Daniel cleaned himself up to look strong for his son, and went back to working hard again. His work ethic was stronger than before, and he was offered to become an SEG Leader. Of course he accepted and took on the job with pride, but if he had one slip up it was over. This was an important and serious job, and he took it up with pride. Unlike some of his equals though who only do office work, Daniel most often likes to do field work. He likes to be in the action and prefers it mostly, but only does the exciting missions that involve hunting down shifters.

With a frustrated grunt Daniel slammed the large cherry wood doors of his private study, and whisked over to his matching desk. He grumbled something inaudible under his breath, and snatched up a wine glass from the desktop. Now moving quickly toward the wine wrack he moved his fingers over the corks of the bottles before picking out an unopened bottle of red wine, aged to perfection. Picking up a corkscrew that was nearby he twisted the cork off with a loud pop. He filled the glass halfway and left the opened bottle back on the desktop, carelessly leaving the cork by its side. He took a small sip from the glass before his attention was caught by the sound of laughter outside. He moved toward the window that overlooked the courtyard below and saw his beloved ex-wife with their three children, laughing and dancing below him. He grumbled something again, and continued watching them with a curious stare.
Vera, his beautiful angel who was no longer his sat down on a bench with their eldest daughter, Elisabeth. While Hannah and Alexander chased each other through the courtyard, laughing and teasing one another. He laughed if only slightly before he saw another man coming up behind them, and his mood turned grim. He passed Vera and went straight for Elisabeth, the two meeting in a tender embrace before the new man in turn hugged Vera, and then went to talking to the younger woman. He guessed this was Vincent, Elisabeth's boyfriend and possibly soon to be fiancé. He had never met the young man, but he was mentioned today when the family had had lunch. It was hard to see his daughters growing up, and to see Elisabeth going off to start a family of her own wasn't something he looked forward to. Before he knew it Alexander would be leaving too. The young couple had said goodbye to Vera and the other two siblings and were now leaving in supposedly Vincent's car, for God knows what purpose.
He turned his attention on his younger daughter, Hannah. She had no commitments yet like her sister, and even though she had many boyfriends they never lasted long and she always claimed she'd never date again after a break up. Hannah was only eighteen and had already started her first year of college, and he thought she had more sense than her sister. The younger sister had always voiced her opinion that she thought Elisabeth was crazy to be in a serious relationship so young, and he praised her for that. He could see Hannah being important one day, and saw her maybe even joining the SEG, but he would never wish her to fight. He thought of both of his daughters as beautiful, and he recognized definite features of their mother in them. Daniel took another sip of the wine and looked up at the ceiling for a moment, trying to push back the tears that were starting to swell. He loved his girls, and was very protective of them. Like most fathers are.
He heard a yell, and his eyes flicked over to Alexander. At first a flash of worry and panic ran through him, and he was about to bolt for the door. However he soon realized it was a yell of excitement, and he saw his son dashing toward the ground to catch some small creature which was revealed to be mouse. His son was much younger than his sisters, not yet in high school either. He was thirteen and still hadn't reached his growth spurt that most boys did, but he had a feeling it would be soon. Alexander was bursting with energy, and you could never get him to sit down for anything except for meals. He was Daniel's pride and joy, and he saw him more than he saw any of his family. A proud smile crossed his face as he watched his son catch the mouse but then free it in the grassy area of the courtyard, away from the walls of the home. Vera caught his attention now, as she stood up and called her two youngest to her.
She was dressed in a casual-like dress that was appropriate for the lunch, but still flattering for her figure. Vera looked healthy and happy, but he only noticed this now. During lunch she had been a little silent, and only spoke when spoken to. He sighed and watched with misty eyes as his ex-wife had a small talk with Hannah and Alexander before all three walked across the courtyard to the car they had came in. She was the most beautiful thing to him, and he thought that even though she wasn't as young as the pretty girls he invited to the house so often, she was still the most beautiful thing on Cambria and Earth combined. If only he still had her. Daniel turned away from the window as they disappeared out of his sight. Swishing the wine in the glass, he stared into it before downing the rest of it with one gulp. Daniel carried it with him to the desk and placed it beside the bottle, before his eyes rested on a framed picture on the desk.
It was the five of them, before the divorce. Daniel was dressed in a decorated uniform, and Vera was dressed in a stunning violet dress. He was staring into her eyes passionately and she stared back while they held hands, while he had Elisabeth by his side and she had Hannah by her side. A younger Alexander stood in the middle of his parents with a polite smile, a hand from his parents on his shoulder. He remembered that day. His daughters had complained about having better things to do, and his son had just been happy to have his family all together and happy. He turned away from the photo and back toward the window. This time he just looked at the clouds, a neutral look on his face. This was the path he had chosen, and he wasn't sure there was a way back. He loved his life now, but he couldn't of imagined how happy he would have been with his family by his side. They were happier like this though, he saw it in their faces. It was for the best.
